Terms of Participation
Spotlight Collective is a curated, points-based costume exchange designed to keep beautiful costumes in motion.
Members contribute costumes to the collection and receive points that can be used toward future selections.
How Points Work
When a costume is accepted, points are awarded based on its quality, detail, condition, and overall value.
Points:
- May be used toward costumes within the Collective
- Cannot be redeemed for cash
- Do not currently expire
- May be shared with another dancer or studio
Most accepted costumes receive between 100 and 300 points, although premium pieces may receive additional value.
Spotlight Collective has the sole discretion in determining whether a costume is accepted and the final point values per costume.
Costume Standards
We look for costumes that are clean, well cared for, performance-ready, and free from significant damage.
All costumes are reviewed before acceptance.
Sending Costumes
Once received, each costume is evaluated and assigned a point value.
Spotlight Collective reserves the right to accept or decline any item and determine its point value.
If a costume does not meet our standards, you may choose to have it returned (shipping costs apply) or donate it to one of our charitable partners.
Accepted costumes become part of the Spotlight Collective collection and will not be returned unless previously declined during the acceptance process.
By submitting a costume, you represent that you own the costume or have the legal authority to transfer it to Spotlight Collective.
Choosing Costumes
Spotlight Collective makes every effort to accurately describe and photograph each costume; however, colors, embellishments, measurements, and condition may vary from what appears on screen. Also note that some images are AI-generated representations created from photographs of the actual image to provide a clean, consistent presentation.
Most costumes are pre-owned unless otherwise noted and may show normal signs of use, including minor wear, loose or missing stones and embellishments, slight discoloration, or other cosmetic imperfections that do not affect performance.
Costumes are selected based on availability, and inventory changes frequently. Spotlight Collective does not guarantee the future availability of any particular costume, size, style or point value.
Selections are subject to the Spotlight Collective Returns and Refund Policy.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping and handling fees apply as follows: 24.99 for Standard shipping 7-15 business days, 49.99 for Priority shipping 5-7 business days, all Tutu's and large costumes are 34.99 for Shipping and Handling.
Spotlight Collective is not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit.
Signature Collection
Certain premium pieces may be designated as part of the Signature Collection.
Eligibility for Signature Collection pieces is determined by Spotlight Collective.
Updates
As the Collective grows, we may occasionally update participation guidelines, point values, or program policies. By continuing to participate in Spotlight Collective, you agree to any updated terms of participation.
Liability
Members are responsible for inspecting costumes before use. Spotlight Collective is not responsible for any injuries, alterations, fit, or performance of any costume.
Spotlight Collective reserves the right to terminate participation and remove points from accounts in cases of fraud, abuse, or misuse of the program.
